"The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it."
 Thích Nhất Hạnh
I skied today. 9-4. Apparently we covered over 5000m of powder.
It was a beautiful day, endless snow under our feet, and snowing through and through, every moment of our day.
And this morning, I kicked off my ritual of meditation using Headspace a amazingly well designed and fun to use meditation app. I sat on my tatami mat, with a cup of green tea, and I did my meditation as the sun came up.
I was reminded of why I love skiing so much, and I think its the incredible joy, peace, silence, meaningfulness of being out in nature. Our hours out on the hill were mostly in the trees, and I was out there with no shortage of moments of pure silence, completely ensconced by nature. It may have been -10c° but alone in the trees, I felt warm. Happy.
Skiing felt a lot like my morning meditation.
My head was clear, and I felt clear.
Thats why I love skiing.
